Toshiba TEC provides Writtle College
with a best in class solution
Since it was first established in 1893, Writtle College has been
producing experts in the land-based industries and is now one
of the oldest and largest specialist colleges of its kind, with
students from over 50 nations currently studying there.
Having already been introduced to Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems,
Nigel Kirby, the College’s information services team co-ordinator
,contacted the company’s head of managed services, Ben Gaston, with a
view to standardising the College’s fleet. Gaston commented. Our project
team carried out various data gathering exercises, which allowed us to
accurately assess usage habits and establish operational costs.’
As part of the audit Gaston and his team identified key locations
where specific multifunctional products (MFPs) would be most suitable.
A total of 36 mono and colour products from Toshiba’s e-STUDIO series
are now in use across the campus. As well as being fast and efficient
they combine copy, print, scan and fax functionality, while also providing
users with the option to produce professional finished documents. In the
College’s media resources and reprographics facility a high specification
colour MFP was also required and Toshiba was able to fulfill this need
with an e-STUDIO65030C, providing high speed colour output and
uncompromising quality.
Writtle College takes its environmental and corporate social
responsibilities very seriously and prefers to work with companies that

Toshiba adopts a sustainable approach to the design, manufacture and use
of its products, and in 2009 it launched its pioneering Carbon Zero scheme.
The energy saving qualities of the Toshiba MFPs are helping the College
to meet its environmental objectives and have successfully led to reduced
wastage and total cost per page.
